WAUCONDA — Several local businesses have joined together to gather supplies for victims of Hurricane Harvey.
Go Motors in Wauconda put the word out that the company was sending a truck with supplies down to Houston, to assist flood victims and employees have already collected a variety of necessities, according to a news release from Go Motors.
Women associated with the Black Orchid Boutique in McHenry assisted Go Motors employees by gathering water from multiple Jewel-Osco locations and asking The Dura Wax Company in McHenry to donate cleaning supplies. Hi Point Embroidery and Apparel in McHenry donated some clothing, and McHenry Pet Central contributed dog and cat food.
More water, diapers, pet food, cleaning supplies and toiletries are needed and can be dropped off at Black Orchid Boutique, 1226 N. Green St., McHenry, or Go Motors, 416 W. Liberty St., Wauconda. Anyone with questions can contact Carol Chrisman at 815-790-5162.
The truck will travel down to Texas this Sunday.
