In Their Life with Barbara Babb, president of the Literacy Volunteers of Lake County
Barbara Babb of Libertyville has a vision for Lake County.
She's the president of the not for profit organization Literacy Volunteers of Lake County, which matches tutors with adults wanting to learn how to read and write or improve their skills in reading, writing and math.
She wants to raise literacy awareness and increase the number of tutors helping to serve the close to 30,000 adults over 25 years old that have less than a ninth grade level education. Right now, 140 volunteers work with Babb.
